e are now well into the second wave of the COVID 19 Pandemic and as such, our Autumn Edition will
be distributed electronically only, as we appreciate that many of our readers will be working from home. We hope to be able to return to a printed version in 2021. In the meantime, we hope our readers stay safe and well during these difficult times.
I would ask our readers to check out our Events page (page 20), which provides an update on the 2020 Awards and Events, which were postponed due to the pandemic. The Costs Law Reports also have an update on what they have in store for 2021 at page 4.
he months since our last issue have been testing times for the legal industry and the country as a whole. No
one would have wanted to think in April that by November we would be entering a new National lockdown, yet here we are, looking forward
to a new kind of normal. It is not what anyone would wish for but I am hopeful that the challenges we have all faced personally and professionally this year will make us stronger and more resilient in the next.
Remote hearings are now the norm for most smaller hearings, and with rapid take-up of virtual meeting technology, it seems unlikely that there will ever be an entire shift back to pre-Covid days in that respect; certainly what started

out as fragmented and sometimes unreliable means of managing remote hearings are for the most part running smoothly, and the substantial savings that are being made in travel costs will be a powerful argument against changing back, notwithstanding (as we are all now too often reminded) the very real difference the presence of people within the same room can have.
In this necessary spirit of optimism, most of the articles in this issue discuss embracing change in some form or another, from the 124th update to the CPR , to the benefits of neurologic
